Best Betting Platforms for College Football Arbitrage in 2026: Fees, Depth and the Postponement Problem

The quick answer
Cheapest CFB leg before kickoff: Novig. No fee for maker or taker on pre-game straight trades.
Deepest books you can see: Kalshi. Its marquee games tend to carry tight quotes with deep size behind them.
Best if you post rather than take: Polymarket US. Makers collect a rebate.
Charges only on the winning leg: ProphetX. It takes 2% of net gains per market.
What breaks CFB arbs: books that look tight on FCS games but hold a handful of contracts, postponement windows that run from 48 hours to seven days depending on the venue, and fourth-quarter markets that count overtime at one venue and not the next.
Novig charges nothing on pre-game straight trades, so the prediction-market leg costs least there before kickoff. Its live college spreads and totals cost twice its other live straights, which makes the pre-game window matter more here than in its other sports. Kalshi shows the depth, and it's deep on the big games and thin on many of the rest.
What college football arbitrage is
You back both sides of a game on two venues at prices that together guarantee a return, whoever wins. A typical US position pairs a sportsbook spread or moneyline with a prediction-market contract on the other side, at the same half-point line.
Kalshi alone lists dozens of college football games on a busy Saturday, and the books on them run from deep on the marquee games to a handful of contracts on the smallest.
How we checked
This covers venues a US bettor can open and trade college football on. Fees and settlement rules come from each platform's own fee page, contract filings or house rules, and depth comes from Kalshi's public market data because no other venue here publishes any.
Kalshi's fee comes from its schedule effective 7 July 2026, checked on 7 October. The other fee pages, contract terms and house rules below were checked on 7 October too.
The platforms, ranked for college football arbitrage
Pre-game cost sets this order. On visible depth, Kalshi would lead.
1. Novig: the cheapest pre-game leg
Novig's help center lists college football, and its football markets cover winner, spread, total, first half, team totals and player props. Ludlow Exchange, the CFTC-designated contract market Novig runs on, certified its NCAAF Winner contract on 12 August 2026 and its NCAAF Spread contract on 15 September.
Pre-game straight trades carry no fee for either side. In-game, takers pay 0.06 x price x (1 - price) per contract on college football spreads and totals, which is $1.50 per 100 contracts at even money, against 0.03 on other live straights. Makers pay nothing on any trade type, and a maker filled in-game earns a cash credit of 50% of the taker fee collected.
Depth on Novig can't be checked from outside the app, so test a fill at your size first.
Best for: the prediction-market leg of a pre-game arb on sides and totals.
2. Kalshi: the deepest visible books, unevenly spread
Kalshi lists college football game winners, spreads and totals, and its depth varies by game. Marquee games tend to quote tight with deep size behind the price, while many FCS and lower-tier games show either a tight quote with only a few contracts behind it or a wide quote with almost nothing there.
Kalshi's standard taker fee is $1.75 per 100 contracts at 50c, and its college football game, spread and total series all charge the resting side as well.
Best for: filling size on marquee games.
3. Polymarket US: paid to post
Polymarket US charges takers on a 0.0695 coefficient, $1.74 per 100 contracts at 50c, and pays makers $0.31 per 100 at the same price. Its certified athletic advancement contract counts overtime. Polymarket US changed some fees again on 7 October 2026, so check its current schedule before relying on these figures. Its college football listings can change week to week, so check which games it carries before planning around it.
Best for: the resting side of an arb.
4. ProphetX: pays only on the winning leg
ProphetX takes 2% of net gains per market on straight trades, so a position held to settlement pays only on the leg that wins. Its football rules, updated 6 October 2026, settle full-game contracts including overtime and void a tied spread or total with collateral returned.
Best for: positions where the prediction-market leg is the likelier loser.
The sportsbook leg, and venues you can't use
FanDuel, DraftKings or BetMGM can supply the other leg, with the vig already in the price. DraftKings' house rules count overtime in every football bet, including second-half and fourth-quarter markets. Several offshore books and exchanges aren't open to US bettors.
What a CFB arb keeps, pre-game and live
A spread arb at the same half-point line: Team A -6.5 at a sportsbook at decimal 2.05 (+105), and Team B +6.5 on a prediction market at 49c. Stake $146.34 at the book and buy 300 contracts for $147.00. Total outlay is $293.34, either result pays $300.00, and the profit before fees is $6.66.
Prediction-market leg | Fee on 300 contracts at 49c | Profit kept |
Novig, pre-game | $0.00 | $6.66 |
ProphetX | $3.06 if that leg wins, $0 if it loses | $3.60 or $6.66 |
Novig, live NCAAF spread | about $4.50 | about $2.16 |
Polymarket US, taker | about $5.21 | about $1.45 |
Kalshi, taker | about $5.25 | about $1.41 |
The same trade live on a Novig NFL or NBA market would cost about $2.25 at the 0.03 rate.
Where CFB arbs break
Thin books behind tight quotes
A 1c quote with five contracts behind it fills a couple of dollars and then moves. When a scanner flags a gap on an FCS or lower-tier game, check the size behind the price. Plenty of smaller games carry only a few contracts at the best price, and a scanner that shows only prices won't tell you that.
Postponements
College football games can be moved for weather, and the venues use different clocks. Say a Saturday game is pushed to Tuesday:
DraftKings: the bet stands, because it voids only when a game is rescheduled more than seven days out.
Kalshi: markets resolve at a last fair price set by Kalshi, because the game didn't start within 48 hours.
Novig: the contract is void and settles at a fair value from the 30 minutes of trading before the news, unless Novig formally reschedules the listing.
ProphetX: void with collateral returned, because the game wasn't completed in the Tuesday-to-Monday week it was scheduled for.
So a book-against-Kalshi or book-against-Novig position can end with one ticket still live and the other settled at a price the venue sets.
Overtime in the fourth quarter
Full-game markets count overtime at every venue checked. Novig's fourth-quarter contracts exclude it and DraftKings' include it, though both count overtime in second-half markets. If Team A wins the fourth quarter by three in regulation and Team B outscores it by seven in overtime, a Novig ticket on Team B and a DraftKings ticket on Team A both lose.
Since 2021, teams must go for two after a touchdown from the second overtime and trade two-point plays from the third. Those points count toward full-game totals at Novig, ProphetX and DraftKings.
State rules on college betting
As of January 2026, nearly a dozen states barred all prop bets on college athletes, and Louisiana, Maryland, Ohio and Vermont had added bans after the NCAA asked states to restrict them.
What to look for
Depth behind the quote: check how many contracts sit at the price.
Fee on the prediction-market leg: with no pre-game fee the example keeps all $6.66, where a Kalshi or Polymarket US taker keeps $1.41 to $1.45. On Novig that window closes at kickoff.
Postponement windows: they run from 48 hours to seven days, so read both venues' rule before a weather week.
Segment rules: fourth-quarter markets disagree on overtime.
Your state: college betting and sports contracts are restricted in several states.
